Professor Owen Epstein - Consultant Gastroenterologist qualified in Johannesburg and specialised in hepatology and gastroenterology at the Royal Free Hospital. He has played a leading role in both the provision of gastrointestinal services and in research and development at the hospital. He is the senior editor of the best selling textbook Clinical Examination, has published widely in hepatology and gastroenterology and invented the Map of Medicine, now widely used across the NHS.

Professor Epstein's current work is focused on innovation in gastroenterology including the iConsult project, video capsule endoscopy, virtual colonoscopy and the development of the high fidelity screen based training simulator unit at the Royal Free.

Isobel Mason is one of the few Nurse Consultants in Gastroenterology in the country. With 20 years experience at the Royal Free Hospital Isobel has run award winning services in Dyspepsia and IBD. She currently runs our iron deficiency, coeliac and family cancer screening clinics.
