Professional standards and qualifications

The service involves the provision of information and advice for tests and treatments across a range of medical conditions. Services are provided by qualified doctors registered with the UK’s General Medical Council.

Registration

In order to use the service, you will be required to register with iConsult. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access at any time if we believe that your continued use of our services will prejudice others or us. By registering to use the service, you:
 
a. confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete; and
 
b. agree to keep your username and password confidential and to take reasonable steps to protect and not to share the login details for your online patient record with anyone;

a. Professional responsibility: To take professional responsibility for each GP who uses the service to the same extent as a doctor would have responsibility when meeting face to face.
 
b. Compliance: To provide a professional and transparent service that complies with General Medical Council Guidelines on essential standards of quality and safety as interpreted by England's healthcare inspectorate, the Care Quality Commission, and clinical best practice in England.
 
c. Privacy: To take all reasonable steps to protect patients' personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
 
Your commitments when using the service
 
As a GP, you commit:
 
a. Accurate information: To offer information and answer all questions fully.
 
b. Personal registration:  Not to register more than once.
